Pre-Wedding Preparations: The Healthy Way

My wedding was the most memorable and meaningful moment of my life. It was something that my husband and I worked on for almost a year. Aside from the usual wedding pre-requisites, we also decided to challenge ourselves and vowed to be physically prepared. Thus, we embarked on a self-improvement project.

For my part, I decided to work on my diet. Although I am not fat, I easily gain weight. So I decided to work out regularly and to effect some changes to my diet. I took up dancing, too, to help boost my metabolism.

I also followed a healthy detox diet that a friend told me about. Detoxifying the body means cleansing it by removing all the toxins that do not do the body any good. Since I loved cranberries, I decided to try out the cranberry detox method. For three weeks, I drank pure organic cranberry juice twice a day. Of course, I continued with my work out routines. I did yoga and aerobic dancing twice a week and did resistance training two to three times a week.

To complement my healthy detox, I switched to eating more green leafy vegetables and stopped eating fast food. I also put a stop to my soda drinking habits and instead drank more water.

After three weeks, the results surprised me. I felt lighter and happier. I was happier and looked more on the positive things in life. This made a lot of difference because my relationship with my husband, then my fiancée, greatly improved.

On our wedding day, I was as confident as I could ever be. I walked down the aisle feeling beautiful, happy, blessed and loved.

Up to this day, I continue to do a healthy detox routine from time-to-time. My husband has started to love it, too!
